Therapeutic Arts Program

The Therapeutic Arts Program is one of the services offered to youth in our emergency shelter.  We recognize that the youth who come to our shelter are often experiencing many stressors.  That is where our Therapeutic Arts Program comes in.  Weekly sessions offer many opportunities for laughter, learning, and sharing.  Projects are designed to relieve stress, build self-esteem, and create cohesiveness within the group, as well as a means to just have fun.  Residents work with clay, lean to draw, paint and create collages.  Some of the projects that the youth enjoy most are making hemp jewelry using macrame' stitches, making dream catchers, and learning to crochet.
If you have yarn, crochet hooks, beads, embroidery floss, paint, paper, brushes, etc. that you would like to donate, please contact us.  You can be sure your gift is helping a young person to create a better tomorrow.
